Arnold Berliner Award 2019 goes to Martin Nyffeler

We are happy to congratulate Martin Nyffeler for receiving the Arnold Berliner Award 2019
This year’s recipient of the Arnold Berliner Award is Martin Nyffeler, who was honored for his article Insectivorous birds consume an estimated 400-500 million tons of prey annually published in Springer’s multidisciplinary journal, The Science of Nature. In his paper, Nyffeler and his two co-authors used calculations to quantify and highlight the important ecological role of insectivorous birds in consuming herbivorous insects and other arthropods. The data gathered in the article are invaluable for the fields of conservation management and impact policy.
