Phylogeography and taxonomy of European vipersEuropean vipers (Genus Vipera) are venomous snakes widespread throughout the Palaearctic regions. Based on mtDNA markers and morphological measurements, we study the phylogeography, taxonomy and ecology of the most widespread species (Vipera berus, V. aspis and V. ammodytes).
